Rounding & Price Safety
Between the raw calculation and your storefront sit three guards: rounding, a price floor, and optional safety limits. A bad price never goes live.
Rounding rules
Every product picks one of eight rounding rules, applied as the last step of the calculation:
| Nearest cent | The default โ $4,186.13 stays $4,186.13. |
| Nearest nickel / dime / half dollar | Round to the nearest 5ยข, 10ยข or 50ยข. |
| Nearest dollar / $5 | Clean shelf prices โ $4,186.13 becomes $4,186 or $4,185. |
| Always up to next dollar / $5 | Never round in the customer's favor โ $4,186.13 becomes $4,187 or $4,190. |
Lowest Allowed Price
Each product can set a hard floor. Whatever the market does โ a spot crash, a negative markup, a typo in a tier โ the published price never drops below this number. The Live Calculation Preview shows when the floor is doing the work.
Price Safety limits (optional)
Open Price Safety (optional) in the product editor to set limits on how far a single update may move the price. A change that trips a limit is held instead of published:
- The held change appears in Needs Attention with the old price, new price and reason.
- You Approve it (publishes immediately), Reject it, or Retry against the current market.
- If email alerts are on, you're emailed once per held item โ never repeat emails for the same issue.
The Needs Attention page
Anything that needs a human lands here: held price changes and failed updates. The dashboard card and the sidebar badge show the live count. Resolved items clear automatically; nothing stays stuck.
