Pricing Types
Four pricing types cover the whole counter — from a tube of Maples to a 18-inch rope chain. Pick the type at the top of the product editor.
🪙 Bullion & Coins
For products whose value is their metal: bars, rounds, coins. The price is the live metal value plus your premium.
| Metal & Purity | Gold, silver, platinum or palladium, with fineness (e.g. 0.9999 for a Maple, 0.9167 for a Krugerrand). |
| Weight | In troy ounces, grams, kilograms, or pennyweight (dwt) — the app converts to troy ounces internally. |
| Markup % | Your percentage premium over metal value. Negative values are allowed for below-spot pricing. |
| Fixed Amount | An optional flat dollar premium added after the percentage. |
| Lowest Allowed Price | A hard floor — the published price never goes below it, whatever the market does. |
💍 Jewelry by Weight
For rings, bracelets and anything priced by its gold content plus your work. Same metal math as bullion, with two extras:
- Karat presets — one click sets purity for 10K, 14K, 18K, 22K, 24K, fine silver or sterling instead of typing fineness.
- Labor / fixed charge — your fabrication or design charge on top of the metal value.
⛓ Chain by Length
For chain, wire and anything sold by the inch. You configure the metal weight per unit of length; customers pick their length on your product page and the price scales with the live metal market. See Chain by Length for the full setup.
🛡 Fixed + Floor
For numismatics and collectibles: the price stays at your fixed number — the market doesn't move it — but the app tracks the melt value underneath. If metal value ever climbs past your price, the metal-value floor lifts the price so you can never sell below melt.
The Live Calculation Preview
Whatever the type, the panel on the right of the editor shows the full calculation against the current spot price: metal value → markup → rounding → final Shopify price, plus each tier price if tiered pricing is on. What you see there is exactly what publishes when you hit Save Product.
